Asset Accelerator

A pipeline that turns an idea into 2D game art, extracts individual assets, and converts them into GLB models for Unity. Built with intelligent isometric prompting and the Replicate API.

The question

Generating an image is only one step in making something useful for a game. I wanted to connect the steps between a creative idea and an asset that can actually enter a Unity project.

How I built it

A Next.js interface connects to a Python backend. Prompt compression and isometric prompting guide Flux Schnell through the Replicate API. Bounding-box extraction isolates assets from the generated art, and Stable Fast 3D converts the 2D inputs into GLB models.

Getting it into the workflow

The output includes PNG and GLB assets, with a Unity C# receiver for importing them. The important product decision was to connect generation, extraction, conversion, and import into one workflow. It is a prototype pipeline, not a guarantee that every generated asset is production-ready.

Workflow

  1. Shape the prompt
  2. Generate 2D art
  3. Extract an asset
  4. Build a 3D model
